No, it should be fine.

The strace output, when compared to the output of the same command on
a lenny system here, shows differences in file contents when loading
these shared libraries:
/usr/lib/libavahi-common.so.3
/usr/lib/libavahi-core.so.5
/usr/lib/libgpgme.so.11
/usr/lib/libtasn1.so.3
/usr/lib/libgcrypt.so.11
Do you have a lenny system you can test on? This, I think, is the
most likely problem candidate. If we can establish that the problem
does not manifest itself on lenny, then we can set up a test sid
environment here and have something to use to further narrow it down
ourselves.

We certainly don't use libldap anywhere, and neither do any of the
libraries we use, as far as I know.
Right now the next most significant differences between the working
strace output here and yours seems to be in the GnuPG invocations by
the GPGME library, but I can't see anything obviously wrong with it.
It might, conceivably, be the /root/.gnupg/gpg.conf file. Perhaps you
should try to delete it. I doubt it will help, but it's something
else to try.
